The Bux-Mont Intermediate Honors Band is open to all band students through audition. This organization was founded 28 years ago and serves the middle school/junior high band students of Quakertown, Pennridge, North Penn, and Souderton. The group is intended to offer students a highly challenging program and gives members the chance to work with students and directors from other schools and districts.

Auditions for Honors Band will be in late September and the festival takes place in late January.

Small Ensembles
Throughout the school year
During school

Small ensembles are an opportunity for advanced students in 7th and 8th grade to play in special groups such as Flute Ensemble, Clarinet Ensemble, Saxophone Ensemble, Brass Quintet, and Percussion Ensemble. These groups take the place of a student's normal band sectional and will work on more challenging repertoire which will push each student to be more musically independent and have a better technical mastery of the instrument.

Students in Wind Symphony are automatically included in a small ensemble group but students in Symphonic Band and Concert Band may be included at the discretion of Mrs Urquhart.

Summer Band Academy
Monday or Tuesday lessons from June 24 to August 6
Available to all students 4th-12th

Summer Band Camp provides students an opportunity to continue developing skills on their instruments over the summer months and to maintain musical motivation. Students are placed in a small group with others who play the same instrument at a similar level.

Through this music education enrichment, the students will continue to build friendships and musically collaborate with other instrumental music students district-wide who share the same enjoyment of playing their instrument and strengthening their musical abilities. The Summer Band Academy provides a unique opportunity for students to continue their musical growth and offers enjoyable, stress-free practice time for all participants.

Participation in the Summer Band Academy is voluntary but highly encouraged and is open to instrumental music students who are incoming 4th-12th graders at any playing level.

Information about next year's Summer Band Academy will be distributed in April 2020.
